The idea behind Image Creations was my fascination with digital images. I don’t consider my self a photographer, but I love taking pictures and playing with (editing) them, and we all know that a picture CAN lie don’t we. My wife and I started Image Creations after I created a number of imaged based gifts for family and friends, nothing very grand a few slide shows, a number of composite photos and photo albums. Then I came across a business opportunity that just blew me away, and the story begins.
We purchased a total business package, everything we needed to transfer digital pictures or images to an almost limitless number of items. Its great fun and we truly love the products we create. With our business package we were also offered, for an additional fee, a web site. We were smart enough to know that a business today must have a web presence, but what we didn’t know is that all websites are not created equal.
As the business grew, we noticed that the only potential customers from the website were the ones that had seen a local advertisement or that I had handed a business card or flyer to, and usually already had the order. While this is one way of driving traffic to your web site, it ignores untold numbers of potential customers who are shopping and buying off the internet everyday. To them we didn’t exist. If the exact URL wasn’t entered for the“Image Creations” web site www.imagecreations.biz it would never show on any results page. I know, it was tried many times.
Now I began to understand I had a problem, but not how to fix it. I soon, but not soon enough, began to educate my self on e-business and realized the need for a fully integrated e-commerce on-line store, with the ability to add and delete products, and a full functioning catalog and payment method. And most importantly it had to be easy for potential buyers to find when they began searching for unique gifts or the other personalized products we offer.
Once I began to figure out what was required, I needed to find the information and help I had to have to get it. Where do you find website development companies and hosting sources that allow easy and free update of the site, daily if necessary. A company that also provides easy to use tools, allowing me to build my own quality site. Companies that will help me promote the site by providing development templates optimized for search engine recognition, and key word placement and selection tools. I realized I didn’t have much more than a clue where to look for the companies or organizations I needed. Yes, I knew the term “search engine” didn’t know how they worked or what a keyword or meta tag was, just a babe in the virtual woods. Then I discovered the wonderful source of information and services that I’m sharing with you now.

As this journey continues I will continue to update this page on a regular basis, sharing both the good and bad. Let me share one thing now, many have said the Internet is an easy place to do business, not so sure you should believe it. It is taking hard work and yes, still a few sleepless nights, but progress is being made, remember, and I'm an old guy still doing a little kicking and screaming, but making real progress.
